Driftscape: Void

drift through the cooled remains

In Alpha — under continuous active development

What it is

A 2D space shooter with real Newtonian flight, hand-built boss fights, and procedurally generated worlds you can roll in-game, replay, share, or design from scratch in a free level editor. Explore four interconnected sectors, hunt key-bosses, and unlock your path forward.

What you'll do

Fly

Zero-gravity momentum. Strafe, drift, and boost through dense enemy fire — you carry your speed, so every dodge is a commitment.

Bosses

Hand-built set-pieces with unique mechanics — paired gunships tethered by energy, segmented serpents you peel apart link by link, shield-eyes with a single gap, and more.

Fight

Swap weapon archetypes in real time — spread shots, cone arcs, charged beams, orb launchers, each tuned for different ranges and enemy patterns.

Grow

Collect orbs, level up, spend points on hull, recharge, and damage. Lose orbs on death — chase down the soul you dropped to win them back.

Gear up

Ship modules expand what you can do — strafe thrusters, boost bursts, a re-tunable engine, frontal energy shield, contact radar, and more.

Generate

Roll a full campaign from a single seed in-game. Deterministic and reproducible — share a seed and a friend pilots your exact world.

Four sectors

Crystal Caves, Ember Hollows, Verdant Deeps, Violet Wastes — tackle them in any order. Hunt key-bosses, claim permanent keys, unlock your path forward.

Built in the open

Driftscape is in Alpha and will be under continuous active development. New levels, weapons, enemies, abilities, and quality-of-life work land regularly. Bugs will happen. Things will change. We document what's shipping, what's planned, and what's broken.

We want your ideas. Drop suggestions in our Discord, post feedback in the Steam community hub, or just play and tell us what felt good and what didn't.

Make your own campaigns

A free web-based level editor lets you design and share campaigns of your own. Place enemies, sculpt rooms, configure rules, write intros — then export and drop your campaign into the game's levels/ folder. Everything runs on mod-friendly JSON exports that match the official content tools, so your worlds are built from the exact same parts the game ships with. Standout community campaigns get promoted to official featured status with full credit to the author.
